Mental Health and Wellbeing
Hatzfeld Care specialises in providing support for individuals facing mental health challenges, cognitive difficulties, and related personality impairments. We aim to deliver person centred interventions within a framework of trauma informed care.
Many of our homes have been designed so people have their ‘own front door’ with direct access to the grounds. This helps promote a valuable feeling of independence for the people using our services. Reflecting an individuals' own unique requirements, a person will receive a comprehensive assessment of their needs and strengths and will have an individualised plan which sets out the type of care and support required to assist with their recovery.
The type of interventions provided will depend on the assessed needs of the person, consider evidence-based guidance and the requirements of the Care Programme Approach. The plan will be agreed in conjunction with the person to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved. Our clinical lead, a registered mental health nurse, oversees all interventions.

The primary aim of our team is to offer supportive engagement. A model that uses empathy, listening skills, initiates meaningful conversation enabling people to focus on their feelings and thoughts. People are supported in finding ways to manage their symptoms and treatment perhaps through some discussion about their medication and how this can alleviate some of the symptoms.
As a company we work very closely with local authorities, community mental health teams and crisis support. This collaborative approach enables us to provide comprehensive mental health assessment and treatment for our people, incorporating a psychosocial interventions therapeutic treatment methodology . This may include but not limited to, medication management, relapse prevention, positive reinforcement, and social and vocational training.
